SEEDS with support from
DSM India under its CSR project, worked extensively on POSHAN Programme in order to effectively address
the issues of malnutrition at community level. The programme was
carried out in the six districts of Maharashtra state viz. Ahmednagar, Aurangabad,
Beed,
Pune, Palghar and Thane.
The major objective of
this programme was to directly addressing malnutrition among the adolescent, pregnant and
lactating mothers in the local community.
After getting the mandate
for undertaking POSHAN Programme, SEEDS team along with the DSM India and Women
& Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, organized series
of Training Programme in intervention districts and distributed Micro SD Cards
and tabs.
An especially designed Poshan microSD card (“Poshan
Card”) was provided to each AWS and AWW. The Poshan Card provides a
ready-access (offline) to the Poshan videos selected for addressing
malnutrition in adolescent, pregnant and lactating women in the intervention
districts of Maharashtra.
